Hey, I'm Jill Perkins. This is my blog to share my passion for hoop dance with the world. Hoop dance, if you didn't already know, is the manipulation or danceform with a circular object or "hoop" used as a dance partner or prop. Many people all over the world are involved in hoop dance. The hoop has a long history, which pre-dates the 1950s hula hooping fad by several thousand years.

Hooping is way more fun than the hula hooping you remember as a child, because the bigger and heavier the hoop, the slower it rotates around your body. This means that even if you think you can't hoop, with one of these hoops, you can! Everybody can hoop, regardless of age, size, or sense of rhythm.

jilly's the name, dreamin's the game. i think very much into stars, philosophy, physics, and religion. i love performance art, music, and film most of all, although i have not regularly watched television for three years or so. hoop dance, an art form i practice, generally refers to the artistic movement of a hoop or hoops as a dance partner/prop - may involve fire. traveling helps me with my restless spirit, as i do not stay in one place for a very long time. i am reserved and i like to be alone, but also i am kind compassionate and respectful as a whole. website design, and html/css are some things that interest me. i really love birds and cats. i have goals, but they're fairly unique and dysfunctional with the capitalistic society. i want to travel constantly from place too place, busk for money, be a land pirate basically, and once i get tired of that id like to live a simple life in a beautiful self sustained farm house way out in the mountains with the one i love.

i was born in dallas texas and i lived there til i was 8. thats when i moved to fairhope alabama. my grandmother became fully paralyzed and we moved close to her so my mother could go take care of her everyday. my life has been very fufilled so far and ive learned a lot of important lessons. i used to go to college but i pretty much got my heart broken and jumped on a greyhound bus when the opportunity came up. had some great adventures, snuck into disney world, met beautiful people that uplifted me and taught me lessons, picked up a fire hoop, and moved around a lot. after all that i still feel like im constantly missing something, and i travel and dream all the time about what it is... and i hope one day ill find it.
