Hello youtube land:) My new artist name is "brown* apple^." I decided on that name based on my hazel brown eye color and love for Charlie Brown comic strips and love for drawing, anything with a pencil or pen. I'm a composer and songwriter from marietta, ga. outside Atlanta in the United States. I am thrilled to have a my first record out on amazon and i-tunes called "let her go" under my name Shawn M. Haney. .......I love James Taylor and much of my guitar finger picking work is inspired from him. I love to reach vocal tones like Ed Vedder of Seattle, Wa...he is the frontman of Pearl Jam. Currently, i'm working on new material with my father and mother's kimbal piano in our home...it's from Germany and my dad purchased it at Ft. Hood texas in 1973 after Vietnam. ...I call her Kim....I somehow sound a little like Chris Martin's sound on his piano...(he's the singer from Coldplay) but I just learned the piano in a month so...I'm not sure what I sound like now....but I do know a lot of my vocals and melodies from piano and singing come from soloing from the guitar...that work comes from Joe Satriani of San Franscisco from the 80's...I give a lot of credit to Dan Manning, my music teacher since I was 12, for helping me with that and pushing me to write songs...and perfect harmonies....I also appreciate the nurse out there who gave me that "Surfing with the Alien" cassette tape in 1988 when I was 12...otherwise..there's a good chance I would have never asked my dad for a guitar...I got my first guitar as an early Christmas present when I was 12 in Dec. 1987...the piano has always been around..my mother and father played "Kim" each week with a tutor and piano tuner that used to drop by. "Kim" is still an eigth of a step out of pitch and will be left that way until we can hire movers to bring it down into the basement. This is my recording space, a secret place called studio y. The page is under construction....though I hope you enjoy my work...so far there are just scratch recordings...most of the guitar work is sloppy and just me having fun...all these are studio takes. at studio y. it's the sister studio we like to call it, inspired by "studio litho"..the recording space and retreat of Seattle, WA rockers, Pearl Jam's studio. That's me in my profile picture at a battlefield park in ga. My dream is to shoot a video in the Rockies......I can't seem to get the funds to shoot near the Cliffs of Dover and I think it would be a little risky, but I'm ready to travel out west to the Rockies and farther north near Wyoming...that's the dream:) thanks for tuning in to this mad scientist project....keep supporting all these wonderful artists and kids and musicians on youtube!!! all of you, keep writing your own songs...and never, EVeR go by the book!!! never play something note for note...always be the loner, the original, the stranger....keep the spotlight on you, don't be afriad.....your space is all around you....harness it.
