Realities Rarely Reported

These videos report on the ground realities in Israel/Palestine that are rarely covered by the mainstream media. The early videos were recorded during a trip to the Holy Land in April of 2007. Additional videos were recorded when Bishop Younan visited the Chicago area in August of 2007. I was a member of an Interfaith Peace-Builders [www.ifpb.org] and American Friends Service Committee [www.afsc.org] delegation in May of 2008. Two videos from that trip have been posted on this channel.

In April of 2010, the American Friends Service Committee's Middle East Program in Chicago held a mock Congressional Hearing to answer the question: Does U.S. Policy on Israel and Palestine Uphold Our Values? The Hearing is fully described at the Chicago Hearing website [www.chicagohearing.org] with video and additional resources on the entire four and one-half hour event.

A final report was published in September, 2010. In February 2011, we released a 66-minute summary of the Hearing. In eight video clips, we summarized the event but added music, animations, maps, photographs and video footage to capture the realities that were verbally described at the event. Over the next few weeks, we expect to distribute the printed final report and a summary DVD with extended features to members of Congress and other government officials.
