@verge999 I am amazed at the time you are able to spend on this pathetic subject. I have given my opinion and will not waste further time with you. Continue to find reasons for your idiotic thoughts and ideas. This is my last post to you. So of us DO have better things to do.

I was part of a Mummers Play when I was at school and played Father Christmas. We had great fun with it - mind you, we were very young at the time and our 'lines' were few and never came out the same way twice!!! But we enjoyed doing it. Dare I say that ours was similar to yours but I am sure,...

My Dad used to make pies, mash, eels and liquor in the shop on Cambridge Heath Road at Mile End Gate. His pies were THE BEST. Everyone ate the food with a spoon and a fork as knives would perhaps have ended up in some people on a Friday or Saturday nights!

This excerpt is from the highly recommended Regio...

    execelsior execelsior commented:

Sondheim said that he would choose an actress over a singer anyday. I think that Carol Burnett is both an actress and a reasonably good singer and does a terrific job here. My very favourite version is by Sheila Gish, but I really like this version here.

    execelsior execelsior commented:

@blondbear2 To be honest, all actors trained in the UK are taught to sing and dance. Although they may not be great 'singers', they generally know how to 'sing' a song and do a wonderful job when it comes to 'feeling' as this version of 'Send in the clowns' proves.

Cleo Laine and Ray Charles in a Gerswin medley (Porgy and Bess: "Summertime" and "I got plenty of nothing") from the 1970s.

@JumpStreet1983 Cleo Laine did play Julie in the early 1970's production of Showboat in London. I was fortunate enough to see the show and believe me she was fantastic. Unfortunately, Broadway did not think this production worthy of transfer - it was certainly their loss, I can assure you. Gla...
