I am an old man who has seen alot and done alot. I was once a republican conservative who now cannot align with them because of the racism, greediness, hypocrisy and base deception shown by the GOP. They once were the party that was paralleled with the pursuit of equality and the virtue of Christian morality. They have more than strayed from such as this in the early 1960's when the Dixiecrats jumped ship because of Strom Thurmond. That is what Lyndon B. JOhnson meant when he said, "Well...there goes the south."
They have since adopted the southern racist quotient, have become a shill and panderer to big business and gone the very direction that they now are accusing the Democrats of doing. I now am an independent leaning towards Democrat due to the fact they actually think about others before themselves...most of the time anyways.
"Those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat it".
Winston Churchill said that. It holds weight then when you consider my departure. The past 30 years has seen the decline of American quality of life, liberty and the pursuit thereof. The republican party has been in charge 22 years of that. Do the math. It does not take Copernicus to realize why I know longer have any trust in the policies of the right.
I am open minded...but not so much my brain will fall out. If that had happened...I would watch FOXnews exclusively.
