@fishingcalifornia100 it's written in the style of an oldie, but it's not that old. it was written for the broadway show, but wasn't used. It made a nice background for a montage, so they used it in the film.

@elphabarocks her song would have had to be started by giselle of edward somehow, or it wouldn't have fit the style of the film, I guess they couldn't work that out, or it was cut for time.

or it would have come at the end, and they wanted to use that "forever ever after" song.

they really expanded this song for barb., thought it was fun.

@dancexlauren301 well, she starts with "don't tell mama" from the original score (for the film they replaced it with mien herr) then at 1:10, she's singing "maybe this time", which was written for the film version, and had been used in they broadway revival.

a sweet, touching song in any language.
