Ethnogeographic Research Foundation is a non-commercial organization whose activities develop along the following priority guidelines:
The preservation of the cultural heritage of the peoples inhabiting the Russian Federation as well as CIS and the world.
The production of documentary video films dedicated to geography and ethnograpthy.
The generation of ethnographic and geographic knowledge in the systems of comprehensive, vocational and higher education; science, outreach and educational activities at school and university as well as the creation of alphanumeric, audio-visual and multimedia learning aids.
The popularization of ethnographic and geographic knowledge via mass media, including TV and radio broadcasting, magazines, periodicals, public speeches, lectures, photo exhibitions and the like.
The development of explorations in the fields of geography, ethnography, social anthropology, ecology and other sciences related to ethnic geography.
The Fund was registered in 2000; Vladislav Andreyevich Ketkovich, full member of the Russian Geographic Society and member of the International Union of Journalists, is the Manager.
The Ethnogeographic Exploration Fund co-operates with the leading research and educational institutions of the Russian Federation. Aong the organizations supporting the Fund are the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage after D.S. Likhachev, the Russian Geographic Society, Moscow State University after M. Lomonoisov, Moscow State Teachers' Training University, regional academic and cultural organizations and institutions.
The materials collected by the Fund employees on their expeditions have been time and again published in leading Russian magazines and journals related to geography, e.g. GEO (Russia), National Geographic (Russia), Oriental Collection (journal of Russian State Library) and others.
