Enrico Fagone
He received his Diploma at a very early age with the highest possible mark from the Conservatorio di musica G. Nicolini in Piacenza under the guidance of Maestro Leonardo Colonna, undertaking further studies with Masters of international fame, among whom were Franco Petracchi,
Klaus Stoll (Solo Double bass Berliner Philharmoniker).
He has been involved for years in a great number and variety of projects (fusion, Irish, klezmer, tango etc.) that aim to integrate several of the world's musical traditions.
He is the first double bass of the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, and he is also regularly invited
to important chamber music Festivals, where he collaborates with artists like Martha Argerich, Michael Guttman, Boris Belkin, Trio di Parma, Michael Dalberto, Gabriele Baldocci,
Daniel Rivera, Quartetto Modigliani, Dora Schwarzberg, Corrado Giuffredi, Giampaolo Bandini, Nazzareno Carusi, Lyda Chen, Cesare Chiacchiaretta, Roberto Molinelli, Barbara Luccini,
Sergey Krilov, Giora Feidman, Fernando Suarez-Paz (A. Piazzolla's violinist).
He is the official double bassist of the Quintetto Bislacco and of the filarmonici di Busseto.
He has won important National and International Competitions like Inner Wheel,
Rotary Club, Francesco dal Pozzo; the prestigious "Werther Benzi, concorso internazionale TIM (Torneo Internazionale Musicale) (second prize), the double bass competition of the Teatro Regio di Torino and the solo double bass competition of the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana.
He has collaborated with prestigious orchestras like the Filarmonica della Scala di Milano, Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
He regularly records with the prestigious labels Stradivarius, EMI, Virgin.
His most recent discography as a soloist is a recording of the music of Giovanni Bottesini (Awarded with reviews a 5 stars) accompanied by the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana for Stradivarius Label.
His performances are broadcast by the television channels RAI 3, Canale 5 (Mediaset),
LA1 LA2 (Switzerland) and by the radio channels RAI Radio 3, Rete1 and Rete2 (Switzerland).
In 2007 he received the prestigious premio Carlo Capriata (Carlo Capriata Prize) dedicated to talented young double-bassists.
He is a professor in the double bass at the conservatorio G.Nicolini in Piacenza - Italy and at the Musikhochschule in Lugano, Switzerland.
He regularly holds Courses and Master Classes in various countries.
His passion for the instrument and the pedagogy lead hit to focus on the practice and the professional implementing of the two main bow techiques for the double bass, so called
'french bow' and 'german bow'.
Enrico Fagone plays a 'pear shape' double bass of the Italian luthier Pietro Pallotta (1743-1817).
