If there is anything to admire about the Allmans--all of them--is they go their own way, they don't just stick to tried-and-true stuff. This is a world-class performance by a world-class guitarist.

It would be great if he could put together a "live" album, put this and "Watchtower" on it. His playing is phenomenal.

This all reminds me of the Eric Clapton-Duane Allman relationship. It's been said the best Clapton ever played was with Duane because Duane's playing "pulled up" Clapton's level. May be that Devon will help Desiree, who is very talented, to get even better.

@screeningmimi You're right, they're not the same! I have loved Duane Allman since first hearing him in 1970, but must admit Jimi Hendrix is the all-time greatest so far. This from a die-hard ABB fan!

@scotchiedude Never saw Duane play, have seen Warren--he starts out slow then gets up to speed as the night goes on. Not quite at Duane's level, but very, very good indeed. It is tough to argue with anyone's musical tastes, I didn't like Derek Trucks guitar at first, but now have 3 of his albums.

Devon is the only guitarist who really has the talent that his uncle Duane had. It just comes naturally to him.

Utterly lovely...as much as I love Petula Clark, there's no arguing this is just beautiful in its own right.

Not what I usually listen to but every once in a while it's a blast to hear it.

This is on her CD "Do You Miss New York." I just listened to the whole album (again) this morning, beautiful songs from a woman who can really sing them.

From someone who remembers when this song was brand new (first heard it on a transistor radio!), this is very well done. Grace Slick was a wild one with an unmistakable voice, so to do as well as this band and singer are doing is pretty good.

@mjhilps Thanks! Pretty sure that guitarist playing slide was Luther Dickinson from North Mississippi Allstars and Black Crowes. It was a bit eerie hearing that, sounded just like Duane, and that's saying something.

Always loved the Allmans doing this (saw them at a private concert couple of years ago, this song blew the doors off the place), but this is a great version, really gets you moving!
