Born in Istanbul in 1983, his interest in music since his early childhood first introduced him piano in elementary school and then guitar when he enrolled in Kartal Anatolian High School in 1994. Erkan, who started to play guitar in the school orchestra in a short time, won many awards for his school such as The Second Best Male Vocalist, Alem FM Special Award, Blue Jean Special Award, and The Best Stage Performance Award in the music competitions he joined as a vocalist as well. Erkan, whose wish was always to develop his musical skills, was also working on various kinds of music. He improved himself in classical & flamenco guitar as well as electric guitar which he mostly preferred until that time. His close relationship with jazz made him a passionate and complete lover of music. In 2002, he was accepted in Istanbul Bilgi University Music Department with a full scholarship. At the same period, he gave guitar lessons in Darüssafaka Schools for a long time. Erkan Kenç who found opportunities to work with many successful musicians such as Prof. Donovan Mixon, Kamil Özler, Selen Gülün, Imer Demirer, Ayse Bölükbasi, Onur Türkmen, Cenk Erdogan, has been giving private lessons on guitar and harmony while still continuing his studies at university on Performance and Composition with such important names as Can Kozlu and Ilhan Usmanbas.
