Happens every day, all over the world, and in many, many cases it's far worse than this.

While I agree that this punishment was a bit excessive, and clearly indicates a deeply neurotic parental dynamic, it doesn't really venture all that far beyond what was considered quite acceptable decades ago.

Keep up the good work. Citizens should never fear that they will be illegally searched or detained when they are in public abiding by the laws of the city/state/country they live in. Only by exercising our Constitutionally protected 1st and 2nd amendment rights will we retain them.
