This music has nothing to do with soul, this pop experiment has already succeeded on a natural base! 3voor12 Limburg, March 2009
A fresh, mature sound. This is what the judge report says when SoulLab takes part in Kunstbende 2007. It is a start of an exciting career for the Dutch band. After two years, the band is not a local anymore. They became a frequently asked live band with a raising reputation, who also gets recognition above the rivers.
When the band takes part in the band competition called Popsport in 2007, it seems that this is the launch of an intensive period with a lot of performances and media attention. Several appreciated stages they performed at were Poppodium Fenix in Sittard, Doornroosje in Nijmegen and the Dommelschhall from the 013 in Tilburg. Next to that the band managed to get some national media attention. The band got an article in Veronica Magazine and preformed several times on broadcasters 3FM and KINKFM.
During the years the band has developed their own sound and style. In the past their sound was best named as pop/rock, but this has grown into a mature Powerpop sound which made bands like The Who and Snow Patrol into what they are now. This sound is recognisable for the ambition and the charisma of the band members!
