I believe many people are attracted to the priesthood for the wrong reasons and Edward Tarte was most likley one of them and probably suffered some sort of 'Catholic Burnout.' Though to some it may appear as though he speaks from a position of authority and experience it's easy to see some of the holes in his arguments and you did a good job in highlighting them.
I have been guilty of going a bit off the deep end on a subject or two in the past so if you think you see that going on then feel free to call me out on it, I do listen to criticism and I do adjust to it if it is constructive in any way.
