Interests and Hobbies: music, music, I hear music ... music, I hear music, music ... music, oh, oh, oh Lord ... music, over my head. i'm also into finding new and different places to hang out (family-run restaurants and coffee shops, museums, etc), and the top focus of my life is trying to be a good uncle to my niece and nephews.
Movies and Shows: my only television obsession is "24" and that's over for the year, so i'm back to just watching occasionally. movies i rarely go to so i don't have any current films that i highly recommend, but some that i will watch if time permits include "waiting for guffman", "hunt for red october", "shawshank redemption", "the blues brothers", and most definitely "airplane!"
Music: waaaay too many to name; suffice it to say that virtually no genre escapes my attention. there are some that aren't particularly favorites of mine, but i still respect them as forms of art. if you're a fan of radiohead, zero 7, john coltrane, miles davis, the beatles, jimi hendrix, stevie ray vaughan, or some combination of the above, we'll get along just fine.
Books: i highly recommend "kansas city jazz: a history, from ragtime to bebop", co-written by my friend Chuck Haddix. very detailed and engrossing; if you're a fan of jazz from the 20s through 40s, you should pick it up. and no, i don't get a commission for that. unfortunately.
