@RGPURCELL I though Kristin was PERFECT for her. The part was literally written for her! He wrote it for her. And Gregory McGuire himself has said she is the perfect Glinda.

Just found out that Jay Baruchel and Jacob Tierney (the writer of this movie) went to my high school and the movie is based on it. :) Royal West Academy, it's a public school in Montreal West. Also, Jay Baruchel's sister Taylor wrote the lyrics for our school musical a few years ago.

@inhighspeed I agree. Godspell was subtly beautiful and endlessly captivating, while Wicked is pure musical genius and has a brilliant plot, but Pippin is a little meh.

Music of the Night is stunning.

Love the slow, soft, ballady version of this song. I grew up watching Godspell the movie, and it's such a sweet, upbeat song in that movie, but this one is also stunning.

Victor Garber... he will always be Jesus from Godspell to me.

And Billy Zane will always be the hilarious demon from that episode of Charmed where Leo jumped off a bridge and Billy Zane was all "we will not give up on love, I repeat, not. give up. on love."

Never noticed until now, but you know which other witch Glinda reminds me of here? Piper Halliwell from "Charmed." Kristin Chenoweth would have done a great job playing her... Not as good a job as Holly Marie Combs did, of course, but a good one. I don't know, they speak and move very similarly.

Piper is so cute and tiny and innocent in the first season! By the end, she was the sarcastic, no nonsense leader. She gained a lot of weight too, and looked great.

@twizzler198 She was on Who's the Boss when she was a kid, and then she played Phoebe Halliwell (one of the three leads) on the uber-cheesy uber-amazing Charmed. Most people know her from there.
