6/8 is not a Persian beat! many countries and cultures of that region use the 6/8 rhythm.
The tar u refer to is not a persian tar! its a Turk( Azerbaijani tar), it has less strings while there is an added low pitch string, its a little different in shape and is held towards the chest rath...
