About Me:

The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, founded in 1995, is the nation's largest natural habitat refuge developed specifically for endangered African and Asian elephants. It operates on 2,700 acres in Hohenwald, Tennessee, 85 miles southwest of Nashville.

The Elephant Sanctuary exists for two reasons:

1.) To provide a haven for old, sick or needy elephants in a setting of green pastures, old-growth forests, spring-fed ponds and a heated barn for cold winter nights.

2.) To provide education about the crisis facing these social, sensitive, passionately intense, playful, complex, exceedingly intelligent and endangered creatures.

Please visit our website (http://elephants.com) for more information about our organization and the elephants that call The Sanctuary home.

I've just watched a video tonight about Shirley and Jenny cried my eyes out. Even more sad to know Jenny has left us. It Deeply hurts to know and see the physical damage to these Magnificent creatures, No LESS the Mental Hurt/Pain it has caused these "Precious GIFTS" God gave us. May He continue to Bless you and these Babies, THANK YOU for your kindness and helping!

How wonderful to watch them finally free and not being exploited. Id love to see them but I totally understand why no visitors allowed. This way they can live in peace. Some of the videos bring me to tears and wondering what kind of abuse they suffered before you wonderful people rescued them.

It brings tears to my eyes whenever I read your tributes for these beautiful creatures when you loose them and they go home. Your love for them is so readily apparent. I applaud you for your love and wonderful care of these beautiful, wonderful creatures. Before they are called home, they come to know in their hearts that they are truly loved by people.

While reading December, I again cried about Bella's passing. I was given hope when I read that Tarra and Shirley have been bonding since Bella went to the Rainbow Bridge. To think of Tarra without her friend still makes my heart hurt for her. But I truly believe that Bella is the guardian angel running along side Tarra and will continue to do so until they meet once again at the Rainbow Bridge. Your loving home and care of these beautiful creatures is to be admired. God will have a special place for all of you when it is your turn to go home. How anyone could mistreat one of these loving, gentle creatures is beyond me. My dream is to come to the Sanctuary and see these beautiful Girls as they go about their day under your loving care.
