"Ramped" the documentary
Erik Smith and Nick Anketell present a film about the working life of a tow truck driver in Salem, Massachusetts.
It's a fun drive around the North Shore of Boston with a lot of snowstorms, hijinx, buddies laughing, and rescues performed on a routine basis. Mostly it's the story of two friends, the filmmaker and the truck driver.
Nick Anketell is a tall, swaggering, ruggedly handsome tow truck driver who grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts and drives a Freightliner for Price Towing, the company his stepfather founded. He's been driving for seven years and has a great attitude about the hard job he does.
Erik Smith is a documentary filmmaker from Marblehead, Massachusetts who is working on a film about the sport of antique hand engine firemen's musters.
It's an unconventional documentary but one made with passion that attempts to show the daily life of a smart dude with a tough job.
