"the drunker I am, the better you look"?!? - Germany has an even more "charming" expression: "To drink someone beautiful" (jemanden schön trinken). I can imagine better stuff than beer though...LOL
I was a bit "sympathizing" with the London riots of last year, though i wouldn´t want to have been among the shop owners....in Berlin they used the strategy of "roasting luxury cars" for a certain time, but this seems to have gone out of style now....i also read a report in German SPIEGEL magazine (sophisticated version of TIME/NEWSWEEK in the USA) + they had a reportage of several pages featuring a rather "sympathetic" Irish raver hippie who had just opened a demimonde café in one of these London districts (can´t remember the name of the district now) + his café was NOT attacked, because the grand dealers shop there in the evening/late night...but his staff was described as pretty arrogant when the Irish owner was not present.....so let´s see what will happen during the next riot....

Thatcher was a sad case for Britain + it shouldn´t have happened. The continent was often rather "amused" by her hysterical manners, but as i wrote before, in the early 80s we had a "colony" of young, partly very attractive English students in Bonn, who felt personally insulted by Thatcher + the situation in Britain. They were at gigs with English, American or German punk/new wave bands + very communicative at the bar + often spoke excellent German....but the German + the English had bilingual talks of course + the later the evening the more it got amusing. For the German version of "The later the evening the nicer the guests" i found the following "proposals" by English commentators in the LEO online dictionary German-English: "I only know this charming expression: The drunker I am the better you look."..."We're the happier to see you now you 'have come'."...."Some guests are worth waiting for..." I´d say: Depends what kind of "delivery" you expect from them.....LOL

Of course I didn´t want to give silly mocking comments about Elder Ladies who suffer from Senile Dementia. But i worked as a carer for them in former years + if someone is intelligent enough he/she can realize that lots of their features in their demented situation must have already been existent in a larger extent in their former conscious life. Of course this is nothing which they can be blamed for....life is life + we all have our spleens. I also wouldn´t characterize Thatcher or similar women as "evil", i would more like to use the term you used for Joey Essex: "Sometimes not very bright upstairs". "Terrorist" measures will also not bring them into another more sophisticated direction because they often have a (even if only slightly) more or less tyrannic character themselves.....

I got into contact to "mauerstadtmusik" record label from Berlin + the owner Thomas Pargmann wants to re-release most of my solo work...i would be silly NOT to feel flattered. I haven´t been to Berlin for more than 20 years + he almost invited me + we phoned + he said: "Berlin is not the Berlin of the 80s anymore, it has become a real world city now....LOL....i know this of course. Berlin (and i guess u know this, too) is a VERY strange city....even Brangelina (Brad + Angelina) love it + have their own home there.....Berlin probably has the most fuckin fantastic climate of weather in Germany....i lived there + i can swear on this.

......"that wretched old harridan Thatcher".... Don't halloo till you're out of the wood ! I worked on wards for demented old "ladies" + they may be as crazy as they are....but they have an "incredible" will to "survive" AND to power, they tyrannize the whole staff....so that you´re wrecked in the evening or after the night shift. Nancy Reagan is a similar case, Obama delivered an honour speech for her + then supported her walking to a table where he signed something + then she: "Oh you´re a lefty" + he pretty enervated: "YES, I´m A LEFTY"......

I´m relucantt to believe in any kind of "karma", but when i watch the fates of Reagan + Thatcher + their surrounding assholes - i almost believe in "karma". I mean...how can "politicians" be so silly ? Though i´m partly into certain kinds of drug adventures (MODERATELY), politicans should be barred from it. Platon wrote in his works that any politician should need a watcher from a better class - he meant "philosophers" (probably of his own kind). But THEN: Who will control the philosophers ? There are some "cool" ones, there are some cruel ones, and people like me + you just want to live a sometimes a bit too excessive life (which we can handle) in peace. People "in public" never really have inner peace, they just aim for hypocritical "public mass opinion" + that´s the last thing i want to "achieve" + i guess you not, too. Let´s slowly forget such assholes + start living our own lives.

My sent Thatcher videos + "comments": I also realize (+ other enlightened people on the continent) how stubbornly silly many in Britain or the USA still ARE concerning the Thatcher/Reagan era. BOTH even were flattering+somehow fooling Gorbachev+relying on both was HIS mistake, but he needed to sell the former East German GDR to West Germany, the USSR was bankrupt already in 1984 (curious date) because of their silly Afghanistan war+of Reagan´s "Star Wars" imposture on them. All three of Gorbachevs predecessors had been old drunk crufts...don´t let me guess what Ronald+Nancy were on...after the Iran-Contra affair - unveiled in December 2006 - there were rumours of white stuff+orgies with guys in the WHITE house+Ronnie shut his yab for 3 months - the first time after 6 years in office. I also had the impression that Maggie was often more on speedy stimulants than on Vitamin B12 injections - which she had officially named....alas...certain women & drugs....

In the "interpretatio romana", the Gallic bishop Gregory of Tours gave the Germanic gods that Clovis abandoned the names of roughly equivalent Roman gods, such as Jupiter and Mercury. Taken literally, such usage would suggest a strong affinity of early Frankish rulers for the prestige of Roman culture, which they may have embraced as allies + federates of the Empire during the previous century. The Germanic Frankish kings also mostly dominated the papacy in Rome between 500-900 which led to the absurd situation that pope Stephen had to flee to Germany in 799 because his "noble" Roman rivals wanted to murder him. Charlemagne went to Rome + imposed order + out of gratitude Stephen crowned him emperor of the "holy Roman empire" on Christmas day 800. This even lead to "tourism" by the caliph Harun-al-Rashid who sent Charles two white elephants......

On the whole the Germans were always quite aware of Pagan traditions (though such traditions were perverted under the Nazis who were mostly uneducated assholes who confused everything + couldn´t tell apart this from that being into insincere myth stuff derived from cheap brochures). We even get taught in school about the pagan origin of Christian holidays. Did you know that the pagan tribes (except the Franks!) in Germany - the old Saxons + Frisians were converted to Christianity by English or Irish monks like e.g. Boniface (who was killed by the Frisians) ? The Franks were "Christians" since king Clovis I. (who got baptized in 496), his conversion to Catholicism, the religion of the majority of his subjects, strengthened the bonds between his Gallo-Roman subjects, led by their Catholic bishops + their Germanic conquerors, so his baptism certainly had lots of power politics elements.
