About this user

I love to play just about anything. I am very blues/funk/rock influenced.

My dad really opened the door for me to be introduced to music. I was brought up real young listening to Toto, Steely Dann, etc. Those musicians, and everyone after that set a high bar of what I aspire to be.

I decided to be a guitar player after playing guitar hero( I was a serious gamer nerd). I would play that game all day, and one day, my dad told me that if I spent that much time on a real guitar, I could play those same grooves. At the time, I thought nothing of it until about two years later I decided, this could be a cool thing.

I think the switch was turned from, "I think I'm cool" to "I love this and want to pursue this as a profession" when my uncle, who is a professional guitarist, heard that I was playing guitar and gave me the Austin City Limits dvd of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Pride and Joy and all of Stevie's music really spoke out to me.

My family and friends are all musicians. I don't just sit around and choose to be friends with musicians. There is a trait about musicians that tends to draw in other musicians. It seems that they all share similar personal traits, such as humor.

My whole family is built of musicians. My dad is a professional drummer, my uncle is a professional guitar player, my grandfather on my dads side is a piano player, my grandmother on my mom's side is an owner of a management company along with my uncle, and my grandfather was in a band called Fools Gold.

From my family being musicians, I have gotten show opportunities and to meet some of my idols. I have met all the members of toto....except Jeff, and I have met all of Double Trouble....... except Stevie. I have met many more people, and people that after I met, became some of my favorite and most inspirational musicians.
