This was the last NASCAR race to be held at the half-mile oval in Clermont, Indiana, formerly (affectionately) known as Indianapolis Raceway Park, now known as the very corporate Lucas oil Speedway. I got lucky and scored a garage/pit pass, and was totally immersed in the action from the start to the finish! It was awesome!

The 2011 INDY 500 - 100th Anniversary
I went to the race with my girlfriend, Bree, and my daughter Valerie and some of her friends showed up too! These are videos of the action we saw from our 3rd turn seats, directly across from the entrance to the warm-up lane into turn 3. Some great historical moments always happen at the 500, and this one was no different. I actually was shedding tears of joy as the Stealth Bomber flew over our heads!! SO AWESOME!!! And the pace laps leading up to and including the first laps are also very intense! I relish the idea of being a part of a giant crowd of about 330,000 IN ATTENDANCE, as well as the MILLIONS that are all focused on that same thing in that same moment of time! Of course, I was a l'il drunk already at 11:30 in the morning, so I was more vulnerable and sensitive than usual! Plus I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!, so, there's that. I hope you enjoy some of these, and please tell me what you think if you have extra moments of time in YOUR life!!!
