I am a US Navy veteran (1968 - 1974). I lean a considerable distance to the left but respect the existence of our government - it is imperfect but by far one of the best in the world. Of late I have been frustrated by the military offensive moves made by our former leaders, and strongly believe that a military should be for defence only. I detest violence and abhor intrusive or aggressive persons. I am particularly offended by people who drive their cars (and trucks) like they are playing a video game, and politicians who use fear, uncertainty and doubt to manipulate the undereducated and misinformed persons in our country.
