A lot of folks seem to think this is an Elvis tune. 'Tis not; 'tis Carl Perkins. I love Hendrix's directions to the drummer...fantastic.

Jimi played with Curtis Knight, not James Brown. Then he went to England where rock was in the caldron and came back and did Monterey in '67. His career ended in '69. A real shame, 'cause he was on to some new shit. That's why the dude's still a major influence "after all these years".

Years ago, I met Hendrix's manager and have to say, the stories are cool. Essentially, from what I heard, Hendrix was all guitar; the thing rarely left his hands.

Yeah, as a long time fan and guitar player I could see Hendrix was getting better and better. Sucks he had to end.

Hendrix was awesome. I'm sure if he lived longer we'd have seen more incredible guitar stuff. I met his manager and knew his manager's wife pretty well; got some great stories.

Jeff Beck is clearly one of the most inventive fusion players ever. I'm always amazed of the excellent music he pulls out of others, whether instrumental or vocal. He's a walking lesson in humility and expertise. Maybe he should be "sainted".

I said this on another video, but it begs to be said again: Jeff Beck is one of the best soloists AND sidemen around. He clearly sets the background for singers to sound great; he has done so from the beginning when he worked with Rod Stewart on Beck Ola and Truth.

This rendition supports my idea that Beck is one of the best musicians alive. He's an excellent soloist but also one of the best sidemen. New guitarists can learn more from him than any amount of lessons.

Beck is a great guitar player. And great musicians seem to draw other great players together. Jeff Beck has never failed in this regard. A wonderful rendition of Rollin' & Tumblin'!
