About ecoovert
I feel I'm a pretty well rounded person. My hobbies range from road cycling to anything rc related. I also enjoy fireing a few rounds on the back 40 and flying giant kites. Lately I've spent much of my spare time working on some of my rc boat projects. Not your average run of the mill hobby shop boats but highly modified brushless rc boats. Got tired of getting tickets on the freeway so now I just keep my 80+ mph. runs on water where it's safe. That is if you're not a duck. That also gives my black lab something to swim after.
Take a look at some of my friend's videos and I think you'll agree. Some of those guys have been giving me a run for my money. I'ts all in fun though. You can also find lots of us sharing our techniques in rc boat forums such as offshoreelectrics.com and rumrunnerracing.com .

Having been brought up a military brat, having lived in France, Germany and here in the good old U.S.A. I grew up with a wide range of interests. At the early age of two I was diagnosed with diabetes. As you might have guessed as a child I was often made fun of in school. Though I didn't know it then, I also had developed a severe scoliosis. This caused me to not be able to do the things most kids my age were able to do.At about the age of 16 as many young guys do I started working out with weights. I soon began seeing results and by my senior year in high school I was known as "Lats" referring to my large back muscles. This changed me for the rest of my life. Later in France I took up bicycle racing. That may have been one of the best things I ever did. With cycling my very weak back was no longer much of an issue as it was with running and body building.
Now as I begin to slow down some I find myself coming back to some of the interests I had as a child. One of those interests is rc boats, trucks and aircrafts. I also came back to kite flying, only now the kites I fly are often larger than a large room. As a child I often wondered what it would be like to see the world from a kites perspective. Well now I know as I've sent cameras up with my kites as high as 2,000'. Another childhood idea I had which became a reality is placing onboard cameras on rc boats, vehicles and aircrafts. Now I can see what as I child I could only wonder about. High quality hobby quality rc toys are now able to perform things that could only be dreamt of in the 60s and 70s. More on that in my channel.

My interests range from rc boats, trucks and aircrafts to flying giant kites and road cycling.I enjoy working on rc boats and trucks to increase performance. There's just something about taking a stock 29" rc boat, throwing over 4.6 horsepower into it and watching it scream across the local lake at over 80 mph. Today some of our rc trucks or cars will do 0 to 60 in just over 4 seconds. Sure a Ferrari may be able to do that but not for under $800. Boy the world of rc sure has come a long way since my childhood. I guess one thing I enjoy most is taking a toy a child could buy and making it do extraordinary things.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take a high speed ride inside an rc boat or truck and opening up the throttle? How about taking a seat in an rc aircraft. Well now thanks to micro cameras we all can experience these thrills. Just take a look at some of the videos shared here by others or myself and you'll see whay we enjoy this hobbie so much.
