Gould was an excellent Bach interpretter. However, he was also very excentric. I'm sure he was told many times to not sing while recording, but alas, he still did.

Considering the skip in the graphics...there was either a problem with your intel setup or you are faking this video. The FPS of the intel was not typical of any proper functioning machine i've encountered, and I would probably have to troubleshoot that intel to see what's wrong.

Although this piece is difficult, I wouldn't say that it's "among the most difficult ever written." However, I would agree that it's one of the most beautiful pieces every written. I myself like Ballade No. 4 better, but that's also because I'm working on it for college next semester XD

I wouldn't interpret this as storming off. It's more of a no-comment. I probably wouldn't have said anything either if I were in his situation.

Lang Lang does too much showing off during the difficult sections, which in my opinion really destroys the piece's emotion. Just because a section is fast doesn't mean it needs to be done to excess. For everyone commenting on his mistakes, Kempff was almost ninety years old when this particular recording was made. It doesn't matter if he misses a few notes here and there...its still a brilliant performance, especially because of his interpretation, not his technicality.
