THE WIND ---------The wind blows. Brisk & cold, It makes its way through streets & walls of cracks & holes --- It howls & growls at human bores who hide & pray 'hind latch key doors. ------ The wind blows. Sound & proud, it pierces bold through shield of wool & cotton clothes; --- It warms itself upon my skin & chases me back home again.------- ----------------------------------------------------------------THE SILENCE ----- February 8, 2000 ----- The eagle spreads his wings and flies ----- Across the nations' eerie sky ----- He ponders why, with solemn pride ----- The silence goes unbroken. -----He swoops to see what he can see ----- Of life that sleeps, or so it seems ----- His eyes, they shift with keen appeal ----- Bewildered by the silence. ----- No man in sight ----- No friends' delight ----- No food to feed his appetite ----- He calls and calls ----- No answers sound ----- Just an echo from the silence. So on and on he flies by day ----- And nighttime steals his sleep away ----- He slowly dies with his stubborn pride ----- And his illusions with the silent. ----- Now listen up, you foolish men ----- Who play for greed and powered fame ----- Don't risk our lives ----- We yearn to live ----- Without the fear of silence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------The Storm - It's a cold winter's day, December twenty-fifth, As I sit all alone on this old worn park bench, And the wind calls to me through this lonely vacant street, You are mine You are mine You are mine. The holes in my shoes let the snow come on through, Robbing warmth from my feet, I am cold, nearly froze, And my tears clearly cling to my weathered saggy cheeks, Clearly cling, Clearly cling, Clearly cling. As I look around the town, I see lights on christmas trees, Truly bright and truly real, They swing to the wind's upheaval, And the flickering of store lights, Warn of darkness through the night. A car moves slowly past me, Shaking heads, they talk about me, Coldly staring, laughing at me, As I hide my face in shame, The loss that I am feeling, All alone my worth's not healing, All alone, All alone, All alone. In the countless nights' surviving, I could not forget my calling, Lurking in my brain still haunting are the days before my fall, From grace to shudder poorness, In these streets my past adorned me, 'fore my fall, 'fore my fall, 'fore my fall. In this shallow world beguiling, With its fancy talk denying, Trust and truth turns to betrayal lest the wishes of the Lord, And the pain remains a factor, When there is no sight of laughter, In the heart, In the heart, In the heart. In my dreams repentance ripens, Resting on my conscience siphons, All my sins of soul detaching from my lack of peace on Earth, For it's man who later suffers, From his search of social ranking, In the dark, In the dark, In the dark. Now my prayers for death besieging, Pressing homeward bound receives me, Through His mercy He will take me to His Heaven up above, And He'll wrap His arms around me, Love me like no other soundly, Up above, Up above, Up above. But, my trial on Earth's not over, As the hangman looks me over, Sizing me for death here underneath his nasty winter breath, For there is no robin bobbing, Nor a raven seeking haven, In the storm, In the storm, In the storm. By the Sea - I love where I live in the house by the sea, Where the wild flowers woo, In the sun's soul embrace, And the trees trip in time to the beat of the breeze, Around the house where I live by the sea. The seagulls scream out against the darkening sky, As the surf echoes boom through the hills' scenic view, And the wet fondling dew hugs the soles of my shoes, Around the house where I live by the sea. The sound far away from the distance rolls in, As the raindrops succumb to this hot summer wave, And the light crackling bright in its flight sights delight, Around the house where I live by the sea. The foghorn resounds above the bank's rocky shore, Calling out to the ships in the storm's foggy grip, And the light circles 'round like a lost sheep in heat, Around the house where I live by the sea. The seed in the soil drinks with thirst-giving life, To the waiting desire of the vine growing tired, For His Spirit prevails in this Eden divine, Around the house where I live by the sea. With the coming of night calls a balmy delight, Giving wing to the owl across the star-spangled dream, And the song silence sings is a sweet hush-a-bye, Around the house where I live by the sea. Yet, the memories seep through like the rain giving life, To your face that appears in my dreams lonely tears, For this home misses you everyday of my life, Around the house where I live by the sea. DAY OF REST ---- With pen in hand --- I stop to think --- Whatever should I write about ? --- The stars ? --- The moon ? --- The ocean free ? --- As free as I --- Emotions spring. --- But, like the tide on a quiet day --- I lay my pen to rest. ----------------------------------------------------------------- HEAVEN'S TERESE ----- She showered me with rose petals ---- Red rose petals ---- Red rose petals ---- And placed a kiss upon my face ---- A kiss of love from Thee. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not As The World Gives - And love replied: " Bear witness to my voice. Go and tell the nations' that I have come to free all blindly bound to hard labor. The heavy yoke that they carry has not rotted from time and place nor has freed them to know themselves nor I. I am the One, Whom, they see as accepting what they think be true but in all honesty are correct in part. Unlike the illusion of love which man has mirrored after himself, I am the true reflection of love upon itself, Peace." Peace = Selflessness
