Such a perfect routine! To compete such difficulty and perform it so perfectly. A shame we didn't see more of Gutsu.

I think this was the best form Silivas was ever in. She was so well-conditioned, legs always straight, jammed together, toes pointed and the height of her tumbling. Fantastic!

Well, the vaults were excellent but they were not perfect. One small flaw - the massive pike down. Even her coach saw it - listen to him "next one keep straight all the way". There in lies why she didn't get the 10...

She was by far the best gymnast in the world in 1992. It is a shame that ankle injuries kept her from her best at the Olympics. She would have run away with the gold then, Miller couldn't compare to this difficulty.

@alecia567 I think you will find that a soviet had already done a layout full out in 1987!

I know that this is going to sound ridiculous but I always wondered if she could do a giant and this does kinda answer it for me. I love her gymnastics though.

@Simba85 I totally agree I had to giggle when I heard her saying that!

The only thing I will never understand is why her coach didn't make her just leave it at a double layout. I don't think that she needed the split for her start value. At least in the team competition as then she would have qualified by right and the controversy wouldn't have been there.
