@orvgg, scat singing is a technique often seen in jazz. What Ella is doing is using her voice as an instrument for the purpose of improvisation. In order to do that, one uses vocables (nonsense syllables). Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald are probably the two greatest scat singers in history.

Ella sung songs of the best: Arlen, Rodgers & Hart, Gershwin, Mercer, and many more. She largely defined scat singing in bebop jazz. Whether you want to attribute her gift to God is up to you, but it was she who performed for over fifty years. That's why you're wrong.
