About this user

I was married to a beautiful woman for 9 yrs, widowed since June 2002. I have 2 boys, and custody of my step-daughter since her mother's passing. Now raising them on my own and starting life all over again.
Life can be challenging, mysterious, and an incredible amount of fun depending on how you approach things. I have chosen the high ground thanks greatly to the lessons taught me.
I chased my dream of being a professional saxophone player and actually "could have" done it. (Well, I did do it for quite awhile.) But then, "life happened" and I was given the choice of my childhood dream or the most incredible woman my life has ever known, and I chose her. NO REGRETS!
Now that she's in God's hands however, here I go again! ;-) Chasing that dream all over again. Only this time, with a clearer sense of direction, and all the responsibilities that being a father brings with it.
Life has been bitter sweet for me. It has been better than any man deserves to have at times, and so bad at times that I wished and even prayed that the bitter palate that had been dispensed upon me would just end. Losing my wife was the worst of those times, but then just down the hall was the sound of my children playing to remind me of the sweetness that still remained to be tasted.
There have been two loves in my life, outside of music. Both of which are now lost to me. The first was my high-school sweetheart Angela, a beautiful, smart, sassy knockout of a girl who completely mystified and captivated me. But, alas my massive doses of a complete sense of inadequacy completely destroyed the physical connection though the emotional connection still continues today. The second was my wife. An equally beautiful, smart, but twice as sassy knockout of a woman who again completely mystified and captivated me. Luckily however, given the life I'd lived up until meeting her I no longer struggled with the inadequacies of my younger years. I was therefore able to maintain and nurture this physicial connection. But, wouldn't ya know it... GOD had other plans for this ANGEL! And yet, just as before, the emotional union remains. LOVE is a WILD and SPLENDID mystery that has the ability to transcend any human-understandable boundaries!
Nothing has been easy in my life, I've had to kick, scratch, bite, and claw for everything I've ever gotten and I kick, scratch, bite, and claw every day of my life to keep everything I've got.
But life is good, it always has been good, and it always will be good because that's what I CHOOSE FOR IT TO BE.
