The original score was very inspiring. This should be considered for a motion picture, but perhaps it should not be a lunar colony of earth, maybe one of the moons of mars, over a colonized and terra formed red planet. that way we don't have to deal with tragic earth changes as a consequence.

This bit of television history was on when very little else was really available. The shows usually never really went anywhere near answering real questions, but the show was nonetheless enjoyable. This was toward the end of the era of intellectual style programming on prime time.

There have been several re-edits of this serial. It was very expensive during the time of production, and the studio used to crete the supermarionation series captain scarlet, thunderbirds, stingray, was reworked for the moonbase center. Later it was used for the series blake's seven.

by placing a mix of black powder and tissue paper in the cartridges, the gun would fire pencil erasers through paper targets from across the lawn. This would make the toy very dirty rather quickly. It would jam up and often break under these conditions.

it would only work in line of sight, and the batteries degraded very quickly. for some reason the radio just quit working after a few days. something always went bad on the circuit board.

when I had first seen this in 1965, It was hilarious because dick tracy was so out of character! He crashed into a stump, and then later was singing in the bathtub! - There were numerous bubble bath toys on the market at the time.
