About this user

I am a Somali journalist trying to figure out who I am and where I fit within the media industry. I currently work full time in WARYATV News Marketing and I'm a part-time student at the St Paul School of Journalism—and I still don't know what I want to do with my career. Sometimes I feel like I'm going a million miles an hour toward a job that doesn't even exist yet.

Which is where Nonsociety comes in. I plan to use this space as a platform for my reporting and a window into my day-to-day life. I'm going to write articles, cover events, showcase work from my masters project as I build it this summer, conduct interviews and take photos (on pretty much everything/anything: culture, business, health, politics, etc.). My hope is that through this process I'll gain a better understanding of myself and what I'm truly interested in, and that my readers learn something along the way as well.

So to get the ball rolling, here are some random facts about me (a sample of some of the more lighthearted stuff I'll be blogging about haha):

* My favorite color is Green I studied abroad in Garissa Kenya I love my wife and my kids, but I hate dadka qabilka ka hadlo.
