I was never into soul and funk at all, but back in 84/85 I used to listen to Martin Collins and Louie Martin on Chiltern Radio on a Saturday night before going out, and they played this track a lot. Had to buy the album. Absolutely awesome. Just listen to it - a perfect track.
Not a fan of any of the clubs managed by Clough or Revie, so no axe to grind. But a few points:
Clough: legend, genuinely the best England manager we never had. If we had him as manage in the 70s and 80s, we would have won it, letalone not qualifying.
Brilliant. Got a copy of this lurking in a box in the garage somewhere. Ramona is now head of a sixth form? Wish I went there. Mind you, questions would be asked.
Pocket Goddess. Absolutely loved her, and she's still fantastic. Great track as well.
