"Priceless" Octane "Unmissable" Autosport "A cracking insight" Classic Ford
Our Man Clark brings together exceptional film from three classic rallying events showing one of the sport's greatest, Roger Clark, at his absolute best. The wonderful footage, from the archives of Ford, is filled with breathtaking shots of iconic cars - especially the Escort Mk1 - powering through the special stages of Britain, encapsulating a special era of motorsport, and celebrating one of its true legends.
Mintex Seven Dales Rally - This short film follows the action and drama from the stages of Yorkshire as Britain's finest drivers do battle for victory. Leading the way is Roger Clark in the Mk 1 Escort, and we are treated to some glorious action footage of the iconic car being driven in Clark's distinctive style. There's also plenty of other classic cars, including the Datsun 240Z, Saab 96, Hillman Imp and more. During this period, rallying was under-fire over safety, noise and public inconvenience and this film is as much a defence of the sport, explaining the rules and steps to limit the impact on the public, as it is a review of a fabulous event. As well as being a feast of classic rally action, with commentary from the legendary Dickie Davies, this film is a fascinating piece of history showing many of the challenges faced by motorsport today aren't that different to the issues of almost four decades ago.
RAC Round Britain Rally 1972 - For more than a decade the Scandinavians had been unbeatable on Britain's premier international rally. In 1972 all hopes of a home victory rested with Roger Clark and his magnificent Ford Escort Mk1. This film charts the dramatic event, with thrilling footage of classic machines from Ford, Saab, Lancia, Datsun and more sliding through the stages with legends including Stig Blomqvist, Hannu Mikkola and Timo Makinen behind the wheels. Commentary comes courtesy of Dickie Davies and there are interviews with many of the stars, but it is the magnificent engine noises which add the most evocative soundtrack to this archive footage. The 1972 RAC cam a dramatic conclusion, as Clark shrugged off the Scandinavian onslaught to secure victory at his 10th attempt.
The Scottish Rally 1973 - The demanding Scottish Rally was the venue for a titanic showdown between two greats in 1973. This film is filled with action footage as Roger Clark and Hannu Mikkola go head-to-head on the ultra-challenging special stages of Scotland. An early mishap left Mikkola trailing, but he fought his way back to take the fight to Clark in the closing stages. Also featured are Andrew Cowan, Safari winner Shekhar Mehta and rising British amateur Tony Pond enjoying a works drive with Ford. Once again, Dickie Davies provides the commentary and there are interviews with many of the stars guiding you through this evocative archive footage.
Bonus feature - Join Dickie Davies as he enjoys the ultimate thrill ride alongside Roger Clark, going flat out on a special stage and describing, or at least trying to describe, the experience.

More than 25 years after his death, the name of Gilles Villeneuve still conjures up images of an awesome talent working his magic at the wheel of a Ferrari on the racetracks of the world. For a brilliant, but tragically brief period, Villeneuve's precocious skills delighted Formula One fans and ensured the Canadian's place in the history books.
This film, made in 1983, pays tribute to a man expected to become the greatest driver ever, before cruel fate intervened at Zolder in May 1982. A skilful combination of action-packed racing footage and contributions from some of the biggest names in Grand Prix history creates an exceptional record of Villeneuve's extraordinary talents and personality.
Formula Villeneuve explores the aggressive style, natural talent, determined personality and drive to win which created a legend. Some of the race footage quality has suffered over the years, but the passage of time has not diminished the spectacular style and unswerving motivation of Gilles Villeneuve.
Among the greats who contribute are Juan Manuel Fangio, Stirling Moss, Alain Prost, Jody Scheckter, Niki Lauda, Mario Andretti, Patrick Tambay, Jacques Lafitte and Didier Pironi, whose own story is inextricably linked to Villeneuve's. We also hear from Villeneuve's widow Joann, journalists and fans.
Notably, this film also includes a rare interview with Enzo Ferrari. The 'Commendatore' had a notoriously difficult relationship with his drivers, but Villeneuve was one of the few to earn his complete admiration and respect - 'We were like father and son' Ferrari tells viewers.
Formula Villeneuve is a celebration of a true legend.

This DVD celebrates the high-speed Circuit of Ireland with extensive and action-packed highlights from four of the most memorable years, with breathtaking footage, incredible in-car camerawork, interviews and informed commentary bringing you the full story of each history-making event.
The retrospective looks back at the era of the Group B monsters of 1985 and 1986 and the fiercely contested battles of 1990 and 1993.
Among the legends featured are father and son Jimmy and Colin McRae, David Llewellyn, Bertie Fisher, Russell Brookes, Kenny McKinstry, Austin McHale and many more. These greats are seen pushing iconic cars including the Metro 6R4, Audi Quattro Sport, Opel Manta, Ford RS200 and Subaru Legacy to the absolute limit on the tight and challenging lanes of the Circuit of Ireland.
Alongside gripping action captured from the best camera positions, this DVD takes you on-board with the likes of Malcolm Wilson and Billy Coleman and even onto the bumper of a Porsche 911 for a real edge-of-the-seat taste of tarmac rallying at its mots fast and furious.
"For this offering, Duke has taken a trawl through its archives and spliced together footage of four Circuits from the 1980s and 1990s. That means the action is culled from the eras when the event was a proper blast around the extremities of the Emerald Isle. You also get to see the top-line superstars of rallying. Duke can't really go wrong with mouthwatering ingredients like that....although some rally enthusiasts will have seen a lot of the footage before, watching period film of Group B cars in action is evocative and addictive in equal measures" Motorsport News
"The Circuit of Ireland was one of rallying's fastest, longest and most demanding events - and only the masters got the better of the narrow, super-quick Irish asphalt. This three-hour film concentrates on the rally from 1985 and '86, 1990 and '93 and is made up of great archive footage" Autosport
"The thrilling rally stages of Ireland are some of the most demanding in the world, whether you're watching or driving. But if you weren't able to witness the action from the 1985/86, 1990 and 1993 rallies, Duke Video has released this DVD packed with archive footage. The lure of the legendary cars - from the MG Metro 6R4 to the Audi Quattro Sport and the Ford RS200 - should be enough to get you interested. ****" Auto Express

"Class" Classic Ford
High speed action from two classic British rallies, presented by Dickie Davies and featuring legends including Roger Clark, Timo Makinen, Russell Brookes, Tony Pond, Stig Blomqvist and more!
Rally 75 brings together two gems from the film archives of Ford, showing some of the greatest names in rallying in action on the most demanding special stages in the world. The rare archive footage transports you back to 1975 to witness the extraordinary International Scottish Rally and the history-making RAC Rally.
The 75 Scottish Rally saw Roger Clark and Timo Makinen go head-to-head in Ford Escorts over 1,000 miles of the most demanding terrain in rallying. The pair would face stiff challenges not only from the Lancia Stratos of Per-Inge Walfridsson, but also from in-form up and coming Brits Tony Pond and Russell Brookes. Archive footage shows you the cars at speed, power sliding and roaring through the Scottish Highlands, plus interviews with the stars as you watch a dramatic event unfold. Sadly, there is no film of the final few miles of this amazing rally, but the surviving footage leaves you in no doubt this was a classic encounter.
The action moves to the legendary RAC Rally for the second film, as Makinen bids for a third win in a row on an event widely regarded as one of the toughest rallies in the world. After the challenge from early leader Bjorn Waldegard in the Stratos faded, it became a straight fight between the Escorts of Makinen and Clark and the Saab of Stig Blomqvist. This wonderful film follows the action around Britain as a enthralling battle unfolds, right through to the final stages, where Clark was right on the limit in a desperate bid to snatch victory from Makinen. We also see, and hear from, many of the rising British stars who would go on to become legends in the sport, including Pond and Brookes.
TV legend Dickie Davies is our guide through both of these events, his enthusiasm for the sport making two unmissable films even more enjoyable.
"To anyone whose formative years were the 1970s, the sight of Dickie Davies instantly conjure simages of World of Sport. Here the great man is packing some mean muttonchops and killer rollnecks as he takes us through all the action of the 1975 Scottish Rally and that year's RAC classic. The footage is great - we particularly enjoyed seeing The Chequered Flag Lancia Stratos in action and Timo Makinen not letting a broken sump get in the way of him recording an RAC hat-trick. If you like your cars painted lime-green or orange, you'll love this" Octane
"Duke unearth yet more gems from Ford's film archive with this two-film DVD featuring the 1975 Scottish Rally and RAC Rally. Watch Roger Clark and Timo Makinen take on the Lancia Stratos invasion in their RS1800s. Class" Classic Ford
