There is no such thing as an "assault rifle." Its just another made up term to scare people. Any rifle, even a cheap auto loading .22 can be an assault rifle. Magazine capacity has nothing to do with it. It is the way you use it. Having said that, any firearm needs to be treated with great care and respect at all times. We need more responsible gun owners. I believe some people should be denied gun ownership. I'm talking about criminals and people who have had a history of mental illness. Sadly, guns are used in a number of crimes. To ignore this fact is wrong and not facing reality. If a person has had a number of moving violations, or worse has been caught drinking and driving, then that person's right to gun ownership should be taken into consideration. How could we entrust that person with a potentially deadly weapon, if they can't even manage an automobile? Just my thoughts.
