the Egg Emperor of Sonic Heroes may have been difficult, but you'd have to admit it has one of the best boss themes of sonic games. I'm not counting live and learn, because to me it's basically a game in itself XD

Caius from ffxiii-2 is a pretty badass yet sad and depressing plot tank. He wants to end everything, sending time and space into chaos so Yeul can have a chance to live longer than 15 or so. Depressing stuff.
