I think in the new Built to Scale, to pass the level you have to complete all the widgets... you get Try Again if you drop a part on the floor.

Nope, you get three tries at the perfect. See how there are three glowing musical notes before you try, and afterwards there are only two?

@tntantoine I have an android so I'd tend to agree... but I'm not sure mine would be able to respond fast enough to play a timing-based game. iOS has the advantage when it comes to hardware.

@gvcdkg It's a one-button game. You can only move forward, but the timing is important. Bumping into a wall will turn you around, but some walls retract, so pressing the button at different times can determine which way you go.

I love the way you improvise with the A button there. I didn't know it did anything in this game.

The english version re-recorded the voices for this level.

@1andonlyWojjan From what I've seen of Bit Trip Runner, it put a lot more emphasis on the platforming than the rhythm. The platforms in this game are so small that it's virtually impossible to complete the level without following the music. In Bit Trip Runner, you can rely on visuals alone, which...

All other things considered equal, the biggest change between the original voice actors and the ones in the dub is that the new voice actors tend to sound a little shriller and less relaxed.

Is this just a side effect of american accents, or are they intentionally trying to make all the characte...

As much as I miss Manzai, I think Mr. Upbeat is a nice addition to this remix.

Aaaaand this is _exactly_ why "crazy into you" has the wrong rhythm for that rap stage. It just doesn't flow here.

It's a bit odd how when they dub an entire song, it tends to sound really satisfying and well-done, but when they dub a vocal "sound effect" it often sounds less cute than the original.

I have one personal exception of course; I think the dub of Frog Hop was better than the original.

Great job on the voices all around! But I'm not convinced that "Let's Everybody Go" needed to be replaced.

Typical american studio... they were given a pre-subbed, pre-dubbed game and they re-subbed and re-dubbed it to get rid of a little engrish. Ah well, at least it still looks fun!

@RidiculousReality101 man, how do you read the notes so fast? I'm usually pretty good on the rhythm but it always takes me a moment to remember which color goes to which button... I'd probably do way better on these if the interface was vertical, with all the blue notes on the left and the red on...

I sort of assumed the point of the test was to make your own tools and torches for once...

@Tyralash There's a reason that you're no longer allowed to put sticks into a recycler... it just completely unbalanced the value of scrap. Throwing massive amounts of microblocks into a recycler would be similarly exploitive.

Personally I think the designers of the cheerleader level were aware of how badly the Dazzles were dubbed and were hoping they could avoid the problem by pre-dubbing and pre-subbing the level. Unfortunately a bit of engrish got in and now I'm afraid nintendo of america will call for a re-dub.

@Smartalek101 I ran into some previews of the official dub... they did okay on the white rappers' voices, but the lyrics are a bit lacking since they're still just saying "I love you" over and over.

@NarrowDipShit In the dub, they replaced peki peki with a sort of "wubba dubba" noise, like how it sounds when a lot of people are talking at once in a large room. I think it works pretty well.

My favorite part is how they actually answered all the questions despite being total dicks to the press.

@Sprech41 I think it might be catchier than the original. Someone needs to make a hack to replace the sound effects in the "dubbed" version of the game with this.

@WootmansayWOOT I was reading a translated interview with the designers of this game and they said they deliberately made the graphics simple and flat because they wanted the reaction time to be as fast as possible, and 3D graphics are less accepting of objects that move instantaneously from pose...

These skins appeared in a single section of the last remix, along with a couple other unused Monkey Tap skins. Interesting to see what they'd have looked like in a full stage.

They remade a handful of the GBA stages for the Wii version of the game coming out this february. Sadly no Rap Men or Onion Pull, but I think we're getting Calligraphy, Monkey Tap, and The Clappers.

Oh man this is one of the "tempo up" stages isn't it? I heard that they designed a bunch of sped-up stages exclusively for the Arcade version of the game. I'd love to play them someday.

@SerabiiBot Rhythm Tengoku GBA had the 6th remix be the one with every song in it, and then after that were two more remixes made by mixing the other remixes.
