DUBAI MERAAS DEVELOPMENT - NEW PROJECTS IN DUBAI

Dubai's Meraas Development Monday launched the 350 billion U.A.E. dirham ($95.27 billion) Jumeirah Gardens project in Dubai's Satwa district, which is aimed at redeveloping the area.

The project will be built over 12 years in an area north of Sheikh Zayed Road between Diyafa Street and Safa Park. It will include some of the cities tallest towers and several parks, Meraas said in a statement.

Jumeirah Gardens will have a number of sky-rise towers, including 1 Dubai, "set to be one of the tallest and largest buildings in the world," Meraas said.

"This mega-structure will consist of three towers that are linked by bridges that contain suspended apartments within them," it said. "Each tower will be at least 600 meters tall, with mosaic-like glass and aluminium-mesh cladding," the statement added.
