About AUP Digital Technology Academy
The "An Exploration of Our History" channel highlights the documentary film series produced by Athletes United for Peace's Digital Technology Academy media arts program for teens in the Bay Area. The academy is facilitated by Doug Harris, an award winning documentary film producer.
The channel includes a variety of clips from the award winning series that examines the community history of Bay Point and North Richmond, California. The documentary films were the outcome projects of the training program that was conducted between 1999-2005.
Teen involvement in the documentaries included: pre-production (historical reseach), production (field & edit camera operation, audio & lighting), and introductory training for broadcast quality post production editing.
Athletes United for Peace's Digital Technology Academy is an outcome- based program that works with aspiring teens to produce educational media projects that focuses on historical preservation.
