For me it was watching Eric Heiden win 5 golds in the '80 Olympics. That and watching NHL playoffs and more recently your first hockey stop video. That one finally got me off my ass and really into it.

I hope someday he returns to the Eagles. Even at age 40 or whatever....doesn't f'ing matter. That guy is the best teammate you could possibly have. But I have no doubt that even if he is 40 yrs old, he'll still make plays. He's that good.

@iGotHex I was too...just do it at slow speed for a while focusing on your front stopping leg until you get some confidence that it will slide. You can add the back skate after that. Knee & elbow pads are good too so you can fall without fear. I've gotten it down pretty well to one side...stil...

@howtohockeydotcom When you say you lift most of the weight off of both skates, can you explain how exactly to do that? The only thing I can think of doing that is by lifting up slightly on both feet, or doing a slight jump. I have trouble with my skates digging into the ice too hard and coming...
