When I record drums as of now I use 2 SM57's for overheads, an SM57 for the snare, Audio Technia snare/tom mics on the first two toms, and audio technia floor/bass drum mics of my bass drum and floor tom. Also sometimes I use my MXL 990 for a room mic
My (john) setup:
4 Opus 88's for toms
AKG CM 519L for snare
Opus 99 for kick drum
2 Neumann KM184's for overheads
Allen&Heath Mixwiz 16:2 studio board
Shure PSM 400 in-ear monitoring system for covers, no longer in use live do to D-TV frequncie change.
