95% serf? can you substantiate your number? First CCP told the former Tibet Govt. in Lhasa that China wud come to liberate Tibet from Imperialists UK, US etc not serfs.
From 1949-59, CCP worked and supported Tibet's aristocrats.
Some Chinese sources say 60% Tibetans were serfs, some 45% and some 65%-70%, now 95%. Stop playing with propaganda.
China accepts that 30% of Tibetans r nomad, 20% monks n nuns.
nomads n monks r not under govt. tax or control, free on their own, so howcome 95% serfs?
Situations of common Tibetans were harsh and poor before China's invasion, but their condition got worse after China invaded Tibet. Now there is no freedom at all. Compared to conditions of people in China itself, Europe or South Asia, conditions of poor people in Tibet was better, more happier and compassionate.
Telling Chinese people, Tibetans and world that Tibet was 95% serf has no basis at all, it is a complete propaganda lie to justify China's occupation of Tibet.
If Tibet was already part of China for hundreds of years ago, then there is no need for 17 Point Agreement to be forced on Tibetans, the Serf situations in Tibet is not Tibet's fault, there is no need all destructions of Tibet's culture and religious heritage by PLA....
For the last 50 years Tibet has lost its freedom but under International law, Tibet still is an independent nation under illegal occupation by China.

What China is doing in Tibet is horrendous and absolutely wrong. They can kill Tibetans, destroy monasteries and restrict buddhist practice, but they can never kill Tibetan spirit for freedom and His Holiness Dalai Lama.
Tibetans are following non-violent path, despite all the terrible sufferings they undergo under brutal Chinese rule. Their only weapon is truth. Tibetans are against the brutal Chinese rule in Tibet but not at all against ordinary Chinese people. Infact Tibetans also share the pain and sufferings of ordinary Chinese people under the dictatorial Communist Party.
It is high time that the issue of Tibet needs to be resolved. Chinese people should be ashamed of what their army, police and party officials are doing in Tibet.
Tibetans urge for understanding and friendship from the ordinary Chinese people to resolve Tibet issue in the best interest of both China and Tibet.
For this to happen, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is key person and Chinese leaders should show courage and wisdom to negotiate with His Holiness. His Holiness is only seeking genuine autonomy for Tibet, not Independence. This is a big concession and Chinese must appreciate this and enter into serious negotiation on the future of Tibet.
