H.dromosus

"H.dromosus" translates as "running man". Our ancestors were runners, the human animal in his hunter gatherer days could cover great distances. Nowadays we seem to have become a more sedentary creature, especially in the west. Three years after quitting a physical job, I became the same kind of creature. I put on over a stone in weight. In January '08 I put on my running shoes and headed out into the South London cold. Nowadays, I'm hooked. When I run I'm on my own in the most profound type of way. I have my goals that are my goals only and I edge towards them slowly, patiently...
At the end of each run, I sit in front of my webcam and ramble a bit as all of the thoughts I've been swishing around in my head for the past hour begin to fade. My autodidactic obsessions sometimes leak out unexpectedly and sometimes I just talk about the run. A big influence is Haruki Murakami's "What I Talk About when I Talk About Running"
