The little girl is 3 year old Carmencita Johnson. This movie gave her the record in distance for a kid going on location--LA to the Black Rock Desert. Carmencita was in a number of MGM silents. I read that Sam Goldwyn destroyed most of them when sound came in. You can also see her in "The Wind....
