Oh sweet, you have a Youtube channel now! I remember first seeing your work at the Exploratorium years ago. You have knack for breathing life into machines, just an incredible talent. Thank you for posting your videos here!

Odd, amazing, fascinating, disgusting, inspiring, tormenting, all words I would use to describe your work. I love it.

Untitled fragile machine, Child watching ball and Margot's cat. I want all 3. I'm a millionaire man. I have 1.000.000 kisses and 999.000 huges. How much?

Thank you so much for posting your pieces on YouTube! Your work is truly an inspiration: art that is original yet accessible, thought-provoking yet delightful on the most basic level. Your explanations offer insight into your creative process but don't overshadow the creations themselves. Basically, your work defies everything I hate about modern art, where it seems like some artists pour more energy into creating their messages and manifestos than they do into crafting wonderful, interesting things that speak for themselves! I do hope you come see us in Minneapolis sometime (come to the Walker!!), but watching these videos was a wonderful way to spend a morning. I loved the video about making wire gears. More like this, please (I think I could seriously sit and watch you build an entire piece)! In the meantime, I'm tempted to drag out my tinker toys. Thanks!! -Sonya

Hi Arthur, thank you....

I work at a manufacturer of engraved stationery and your art is like a microcosm of my job; where I work the flywheels of these very old presses (one is from 1908 and still in daily use, using a buffalo hide belt; when it breaks, that's it) are three feet in diameter, the mechanisms rube goldbergian --- a macro version of your work. The rhythm of four presses sounding off simultaneously has inspired a lot of music for me...odd yet familiar rhythms synched up in their own time...
