Kind of surprised that the iPhone focuses faster. In the end, I'm a Canon guy. I think Canon, on average, produces a better picture and color saturation over the competition. I have the HF S200 which has a manual focus also. A little pricey, but worth it.

I used to have a vcr with thumwheel tracking adjustment. It never made sense to me why that became obsolete. No auto adjustments could ever come close to what you could do manually.
