Some informative comments on the anti-wax video:
goatboy1186:
Hair locking occurs when the hairs have room to move around each other and knot. Wax prevents this by holding the hairs in place. If you want candles growing out of your head go ahead and use some wax. Also wax is sticky and traps dirt, dust, and moisture in the locks resulting in stinky, sticky, dirty hair. Wax is extremely difficult to remove from the hair once it dries out. I know this from experience as I used small amounts of DHHQ wax for half a year. Dipped em' in boiling water...yeah

thank god(in the real sense of the word)that someone posted this!beautiful music, and makes a point.i had locs for 2 years,i occasionally used wax,but none of those brands, and a very miniscule amount, when my hair was so dry (from me cleaning it too much!) when i got rid of them (sigh, growin on it now)there was none of that nastiness in there, because i just let my hair loc itself, and left it the fuck alone. btw,i'm a little italian chick,so for all you whities, WHITE HAIR CAN LOC IF LEFT ALONE!

Yuuck, wax'd dreads look horrible... If you want dreads don't trust any site that tells you you have to give them $80 to achieve a NATURAL hair style. Just forget about your hair for a while (backcomb if you really must!) and you'll soon have dreads. Just don't turn them into candles - no wax necessary! Wax = hair not properly locking and nasty mold :/
