Back in the 80's I bought this very album. Journey to the Center of the Earth suite & Fahrenheit 451 suite is included, too. Man, I've not pulled out that album in a long time. Beautiful music from Mr. Herrmann.

I remember long ago watching the ol' Bugs Bunny show on ABC that came on at night, and there was a lot of "bumpers" surrounding the cartoons, some extra animation that helped segue smoothly into a cartoon, this one in particular.

Belvedere's master looks like Col. Shuffle from Bugs Bunny's Mississippi Hare. Watching Belvedere run with his back legs in the air is priceless.

the wife is voiced by Bea Benderet, who also voiced Cousin Pearl from the Beverly Hillbillies, Kate Bradley from Petticoat Junction, & the first Betty Rubble from the Flintstones.

One of the sweetest WB cartoons they ever made. Who doesn't have a dry eye when Marc Antony thinks his kitten is being made into cookies?

That look on Claude's face when he puts the mice in his mouth after they hit him with a hammer is priceless.

Did you notice the bulldog seeing red right before he attacked Claude? Clever.

Strange to hear the ant & the aardvark them throughout this cartoon.

The Ant & the Aardvark is a rare cartoon in that it gives credit to the musicians in the opening. The music's superb. Wonder if one can get a recording of it.

Aardvark: Y'know, peanut butter really sticks...to the roof of your back. Classic!

Aardvark: Hey ant, what is this? Nothing but hallways!

John Byner is great...the ant is Dean Martin, the aardvark is Joey Bishop, sweet!

I remember getting for Christmas the Henry Mancini album of his greatest hits & this was one I played over & over, never getting tired of it. Hearing it today took me back to a happier time. Icing on the cake is hearing Andy Williams sing it.
