First off, Everyone calls me "Chicken"!!! Whats my Real Name? You will never meet one person that calls me by that name so it doesn't matter. I'm a pretty laid back Guy... NOT! I'm Metal Head Crazy! I am the singer for Death Metal Band "Dead Rising" maybe you've already heard about us, If you haven't stop READING and go support your Local Music Scene and listen @ Myspace.com/DeadRising!!! I would like to take the time and say "Thank You" to Carcass John and Behemoth Brian our Manager/Investor/Label Owner for all the Support, Confidence, and Believing in us and what we love to do!!!---- Dead Rising recently got signed to "Metal Rising" and put out our 1st Album "Reign of Misery" Nov. 8th 2008 which is NOW AVAILABLE in all "CD Warehouses" in the Dallas Ft Worth Metroplex.---- I was born and raised in Ft. Worth Texas and have lived here my whole life, was always involved with music thanks to the musical family background. When I was a little kid I used to watch my Pops play his guitar in the house and was fascinated with what I had seen and heard. I use to always look at pictures of him playing on stage in front of all the people and dream, wondering what it would feel like.---- I started out playing the Saxophone and also Percussion in my Middle School Band. When I got into High School my dad was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and was unable to play his guitar any more. Seeing the sadness and loss we he said I would rather be able to play my guitar than walk made me pick it up learn how to play. After a few days I ended up falling in love with it. I remember telling myself, thats what I want to do; I want to be a guitarist just like Ole Man. After teaching myself how to play I found some friends in school who had the same ideas and taste in music as I did and we started our first ever 4 piece heavy metal garage band called Verbal Genocide. We played at all of our local school events, Birthdays and house parties. Soon after we graduated the band lost our brother/best friend and Singer Wyane Palmer (R.I.P) putting our music on hold for two and a half years.---- At the age of 18 a friend of mine introduced me to Casey Crazy Fingers McKinley who come to find out was also stepping back in to the music scene. After meeting him and seeing how good of a player he was I preceded to bug him every day till he taught me to be a better guitar player. After months of jamming and having songs wrote we decided and created 5 piece band Disassembled playing over 100 shows in 1 year. In 2004 I left Disassembled and joined a band called Lost as their Lead/Rhythm Guitarist till the end of 2006 when once again I stop playing music and moved to Slidell Louisiana to work.---- In 2007, after many years of work and missing music I took the time to ask myself, Is this really what I want to do the rest of my life? After six months of hating work, I decided to move back to Texas to be with my family and friends. When I got back into town I got a phone call from former band member Casey Mckinley telling me he is now jamming with Drummer Brian Machine Gun Taylor from former band Vicious Truth and I needed to come and check it out. I loved their sound and wanted to be apart of the action. One day Im hanging out at the jam room and their singer didnt show up for practice, so I asked them, do you mind if I get on the mic and scream a little? The next day I get a call from Casey and Brian telling me, its time to take it to a completely new and unknown level, You have the vocals we are looking for. Wanting to take the opportunity I joined the band as the new official front man even though I had no idea what I was doing. After picking up the microphone and just letting go, I knew right then that it was my calling and the start of something NEW!!!---- Though Dead Rising was only a 3 piece band and still looking for a bass player we took to the streets playing shows anyways. After playing a show at the Curtain Club, former singer and guitarist Pu-All came up to me and said how much he loved the music and would be willing to complete Dead Rising as the Bass player. Filling the part well and learning how to play hack we gave him the job.---- Ive been on tour with many of our Idols such as Obituary, Unleashed, and Carnifex. We were on the Metal up your Ass tour with Carcass, White Chapel, Suicide Silence, Suffocation, Psycroptic, and Arsis to name a few. I love all types of music from Blues to Jazz, Country, Rock and Roll, all the way to the Oldies I grew up listening to with my dad. I have loved everything about being involved in music; its my LIFE "No Music, No Life"!
