Dragon: since 1972 purveyors of Antipodean Anthems
About Me:

Dragon is a popular New Zealand / Australian rock band, they were formed in Auckland New Zealand in 1973 and relocated to Sydney Australia in mid-1975. Dragon scored a string of major hits on the Australian pop charts with songs including "This Time", "Get That Jive" , "Sunshine", "April Sun in Cuba", "Are You Old Enough", "Rain" & "Cry".
The line up in the late 70s and early 80s was:

Marc Hunter - Lead Vocals
Todd Hunter - Bass & Backing Vocals
Paul Hewson - Keyboards & Backing Vocals
Kerry Jacobson - Drums
Robert Taylor - Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals

The lineup changed mid 80's with Kerry Jacobson, Paul Hewson and Robert Taylor departing the band to be replaced by:-

Terry Chambers, then Doane Perry respectively replacing Kerry Jacobson on the Drum Kit. Alan Mansfield joins the band in 1983 on Keyboards. Don Miller-Robinson, Tommy Emmanuel, Pete Northcote and various other well known and respected session musicians replacing Robert Taylor on Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals.

Marc Hunter fronted the band until his death in 1998.

The band was dormant for 10 years

Reforming in 2006 the band line up now comprises of:

Mark Williams - Lead Vocals,
Todd Hunter - Bass & Backing Vocals
Bruce Reid - Guitars & Backing Vocals
Pete Drummond - Drums, keyboards & Backing Vocals.

New album 21 due in May 2011

This is an excellent source of Dragon videos. Great channel. Dragon was the first band I ever saw when I was 4 years old & they're so underrated.

I'd like to point out that this band is a New Zealand band, not Australian, they started in NZ and all the main members have been New Zealanders. This should be changed on the profile.

I moved in Australia about 10y ago from Italy and never heard about Dragon before. Few months ago I heard "are you old enough" on radio and I liked enough to search for it on youtube. There I come across the acoustic version with Mark and Renee Geyer's backing vocals. It really banged in my head and since then I can't stop click on the replay button.
Awesome song and so intensely performed in that version. it goes deep under my skin everytime I play it.
