I love these old videos, which show actual skills and are not flowery in the effects and edition.

Maybe neither the finalised version nor the demo is better, but you are used to the CD version so it is always interesting to listen to a variation of the song. Personally, I very much enjoy the demo of A Gothic Romance.

@Feanor940: Blasphemer is a great guitarist, but, Euronymous is the one who defined the sound of Mayhem, and Mayhem's classics are his creation.

@SatanFang : Objectively, CoF does not really sound 'black metal' for me, though they do retain some element of black metal. I'm not a music analyst, but if you listen to some typical bands considered 'true black metal', namely Taake, Gorgoroth, early Mayhem, Burzum, they don't sound any like CoF.

@tDeathwingr :Evolution is not bad. But, objectively, I consider the quality of their music has declined over time. It is not about their 'sell out' status, I simply think that their new stuff is not as good as their early releases.
